How does billing work?
Monthly billing:
Charged on the same date each month
Overage minutes appear on next invoice
Cancel anytime, keep access through billing period
Annual billing (30% discount):
Pay for 12 months upfront
Same overage rates as monthly
Pro-rated refund not available if canceling early
Keep full access through the annual period
When should I upgrade my plan?
Consider upgrading when:
Overage charges exceed the cost difference between plans for 2+ months
You're consistently using 80%+ of included minutes
You need additional properties or features
Your call volume is growing steadily
Example: Starter plan at $129 includes 150 minutes. If you're using 250 minutes monthly (100 overage Γ $0.50 = $50 extra), upgrading to Professional at $299 saves you money and includes 250 minutes.
How do I change plans?
Navigate to Settings β Billing in your Doorkeep dashboard
Click "Manage Subscription" to open the Stripe billing portal
Select "Update plan" to see available options
Choose your new plan and confirm
Upgrading: Immediate access to new plan features. Pro-rated charge for the remainder of your billing period.
Downgrading: Takes effect at your next billing cycle. You keep current plan features until then.

Only extra cost:
Minutes beyond your plan's inclusion
Your Twilio costs (phone numbers ~$1/month, calls ~$0.02/minute)
How do I cancel my account?
Go to Settings β Billing in your Doorkeep dashboard
Click "Manage Subscription" to open the Stripe billing portal
Select "Cancel plan" and follow the prompts
You'll keep full access through your current billing period
Export any data you need before your period ends
Your phone numbers remain yours (they're in your Twilio account)
